Program

Our IR6 Program is designed to quickly get you in the air and flying with confidence. With comprehensive training and expert instruction, you'll be well-equipped to become a skilled and proficient instrument rated pilot, ready to take on new challenges in your aviation journey.

Timeline:

At RVA Flyers, we understand that everyone has different goals and schedules, which is why we offer personalized training programs that fit your unique needs. Completing training can be as fast as 6 days.

Cost & Break Down:

Our Accelerated Instrument Program, also known as IR6, is designed for the private aircraft owner looking to continue to advance their flight capabilities or the future commercial pilot looking for a successful aviation career. Priced at $9,750, this comprehensive program covers training and certifications essential for adding a instrument rating to your current single engine licensee.

A $1,000 deposit is due upon scheduling, with the remaining payment of the course paid PRIOR to the first day of class. 

 

Please note the DPE fee is not included in the package. The Flight Examiner's fee is due upon the commencement of your checkride and must be paid in cash (NO checks or credit cards accepted). 

Prerequisites

Documents:

Current Medical (Basic Med OK)
Valid U.S Passport or Birth certificate

Experience:

40 Hours of PIC Cross-Country Time

20 Hours of Actual or Simulated Instrument
Completed Instrument Written Test
Current Flight Review

What's Included

27 Hours of Flight Time:

25 Hours of Flight Training

2 Hours of Aircraft Rental for Checkride

Lodging and Stay

For students attending our training program from out of town and looking for a place to stay, we recommend the Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel at 5501 Eubank Rd, Sandston, VA 23150. Located just across from the airport and a 3-minute drive from our training facility, it offers comfort, convenience, and excellent amenities for an enjoyable stay with free shuttle services provided to our training center and the terminal.
